PILOTS VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM SWEEPS MCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS, MAKES NATIONAL HISTORY

For the first time in program history, both the men's and women's volleyball teams at Providence not only claimed MCAC championship banners—but did so in dominant fashion, landing both programs at the CCAA National Tournament and writing a new chapter in Pilots athletics history.

Men's Volleyball: A Dynasty in Full Flight

History was already in the making this season, as the Men's Volleyball program had the rare opportunity to host the CCAA National Tournament, a first for any MCAC team. But long before the national spotlight arrived, the Pilots were making noise in their home conference. With a commanding regular season that saw them soar to the top of the MCAC standings, they left little doubt about who the team to beat was.
Their championship clash was a familiar one, facing off against rivals CMU Blazers in a best-of-three MCAC Final. While many expected a hard-fought series, the Pilots had other plans—dismantling CMU and dropping only a single set across the two-match sweep. It marked the third straight MCAC title for the Men's Volleyball program, firmly cementing their place as an MCAC dynasty.
As the championship banner was raised once again, it became clear: the Pilots aren't just winning—they're building a legacy.

After an unforgettable run through the MCAC season, the Pilots men's volleyball team soared to victory, earning their spot as conference champions and punching their ticket to the CCAA National Championship—hosted for the first time ever by the MCAC at none other than Providence University.

Excitement buzzed through the campus as the university transformed into a national stage, welcoming the top college teams from across the country. The Pilots drew the Red Deer Kings in their opening quarterfinal match—a tough challenge, as the Kings would go on to claim the national title. Despite the loss, the Pilots held their heads high, knowing they battled one of the best.

Next came the College of the Rockies Avalanche in the Bronze quarterfinals. The Pilots had their eyes on a win but came up short once again in a hard-fought match that didn't go their way. With one final opportunity to close out their national journey strong, the Pilots faced off against Cégep de l'Outaouais in the 7th/8th placement match. Providence came out swinging, taking the first two sets with energy and confidence, but momentum shifted, and the Griffons clawed their way back, completing a reverse sweep that left the Pilots stunned.

While the outcome wasn't what the team or school had hoped for, the experience was nothing short of incredible. From the electric home crowd to the pride of hosting Canada's top collegiate talent, the event was a milestone moment for the program and the university. And with Providence set to host the CCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship in 2026, the legacy of this year's nationals is just the beginning.

Women's Volleyball: From Heartbreak to History
On the women's side, redemption was the word of the season. After a narrow miss in 2024, the team returned to the court with a single mission—bring home the banner. Fueled by past heartbreak and driven by elite consistency, the Pilots turned in another dominant season, losing just two matches in regular season play.

Like their male counterparts, the women entered the MCAC Championships as the top seed, once again facing their longtime rivals, the CMU Blazers. In a near mirror image of the men's final, the Pilots dropped only one set en route to their long-awaited first MCAC title in the modern era.
But the story didn't end there. The win punched the team's ticket to their first-ever appearance at the CCAA National Tournament. Representing the MCAC on the national stage, the women made the community proud with a strong showing—defeating Mount Allison in a 3-1 match victory.
Their journey was one of perseverance, resilience, and unshakable belief—a breakthrough season that will be remembered for years to come.

The championship banners now hanging in the gym are more than symbols of victory—they're testaments to the work, unity, and spirit of everyone involved.
To all the players, coaches, and staff—your success has set a new standard. Please stand and be recognized for a championship season that will inspire generations of Pilots to come.
Congratulations, champions.
